Another successful day at perhaps the prettiest airfield in the Pacific Northwest. The vintage fly-in at Mears Field is a must-do on my
calendar. Great light, beautiful backdrops and friendly and laid-back people. Gallery to follow.....]]>[email protected] (Aviation Images Unlimited)https://aviationimagesunlimited.zenfolio.com/blog/2017/8/concreteTue, 08 Aug 2017 20:00:30 GMTThree Times Three

To illustrate the huge variety of aviation in the Seattle area, here are three images from three different airports, shot only an hour or so apart. Starting at Boeing Field, where we see one of Boeing's T-38A chase planes on final, to Renton's floatplane base where one of the local Beavers is preparing to depart, and finally to SeaTac where we see Lufthansa's daily 747 en route to Frankfurt.

Last weekend (06/23-24/17) saw the first two flight tests of Flying Heritage's new DH Mosquito. An attempt had been made the previous Sunday, but had fallen foul of the very unpleasant weather that weekend. The weather on Friday the 23rd was ideal, and pilot Steve Hinton gave the aircraft a thirty-minute check flight, followed on Saturday morning by a second hop. So good to see a Mossie in the air again!

After much too long I've finally begun adding some more content. Standout album is without doubt the one from this year's Chino airshow, but all the albums are worth a look - but then I would say that, wouldn't I?

08/09/12 saw the third and final visit to Boeing Field of NASA's Super Guppy N941NA. The aircraft arrived with the last section of the Shuttle Trainer for the Museum of Flight.
Large, Rare and Slightly Ugly
It departed at 0800 the following morning to Ellsworth AFB, trailing vapor from all four props - most impressive!
